3D Prototype Mold

3D Prototype Molds will help your company develop new items quickly, and are great for fit, function, and proof of concept. The parts formed from the printed molds will not have the clarity of a production machined aluminum, but the functionality and geometry will be there. The 3D Prototype Mold allows for the customer to have a tangible sample of their product or packaging in a timely fashion and gives them a chance to make any necessary changes prior to moving forward with production tooling.

3D Tooling Components

At FormTight, we utilize our 3D Printer to not only print 3D Prototype Molds, but other tooling components as well. If a customer’s prototype isn’t forming as well as expected and the customer has a tight tolerance requirement, then we may suggest a 3D Printed Plug Assist. The Plug Assist will help push the material into those tight radii/draft angles to meet the tolerance needs. We aren’t limited to only 3D Plug Assists as we commonly produce 3D Printed Concepts, Mold Layouts, Cavity Samples, etc.
